Wine Tours From Florence, Italy
The
Great Tuscan Wine Estates
Tuscany boasts many
of the world's finest and most beautiful wineries, many of which are open to the
public. However, it's one thing to rent a car and drive out into the country,
hoping to find the vintner at home. It's quite another to arrive expected,
explore the winery with the vintner and a guide who know wines, enjoy a wine
tasting and a delicious lunch, and visit other local points of interest.
A Grape
Adventures tour leader will escort participants to a premier wine estate in
Chianti Classico. En route, the guide will provide background information about
the history of the area, its wines, and point out noteworthy sights. At the
winery, tour members will enjoy a tour followed by a wine-tasting and have the
opportunity to purchase wines, olive oils, honey, and other local products.
Chianti
Classico
Chianti
Classico, the most famous of the seven subzones of the Chianti wine region,
extends from Florence to Siena. The region is called Classico because it
is the historic heart of the Chianti region. The tour begins with a magnificent
drive through the winding roads and steep hills. The classic landscape lined
with olive groves, dense woods, hilltop fortress towns and castles is one of the
most beautiful on earth. You will explore a wine estate and taste the Chianti
Classico wines, which are made with the Sangiovese grape, and are garnet-colored
with moderate body and great finesse.
